The Wild Olive is situated in the centre of the Lake District village of Gosforth, at the foot of the Wasdale valley – approximately ten minutes drive from both Wasdale and Eskdale, providing an excellent base for those wanting to enjoy the fells.

Parking

We reserve the parking immediately outside the restaurant for those with particular mobility needs but the large village car park is just around the corner and offers free parking.

Directions

From the north: Travel south down the A595 until you see a left turn signposted to Gosforth. Take this turn, go down the hill into the village and you will see The Wild Olive on the right before the mini-roundabout. (If you are parking in the village car park, turn left at the roundabout and the car park is first on your left).

From the south: Travel north up the A595 until you see a right turn signposted to Gosforth. Take this turn and follow the road to the mini-roundabout. Take the first exit (left) and you’ll see The Wild Olive on your left. (If you are parking in the village car park, turn right at the roundabout and the car park is first on your left).

From Wasdale and Eskdale: Drive into the centre of the village, past the Village Store on your left, turn right at the mini-roundabout and you’ll see The Wild Olive on your left. (If you are parking in the village car park, it is on your right opposite the Village Store, before you reach the roundabout).

Directly behind the restaurant is the village playing field and children’s play park, which has its own parking. The Wild Olive can also be accessed directly via this play park to the rear.
